Dear All
I would be interested to know what arrangements your institution
has in place for obtaining Enhanced Disclosures for new students
entering ITT courses in October 2002.
I have ordered a stock of blank application forms for distribution to
our new students via Induction Packs.
We were planning to ask students to bring their completed forms to
their programme registration day. The College has arranged
payment on account so our students will be asked to provide a
cheque for £12, to cover the charges made to the College by the
CRB, before their applications will be countersigned. The forms will
be countersigned and returned to the CRB within 2 weeks of
registration day. This is based on guidance that it will be
compulsory for student teachers to have obtained an Enhanced
Disclosure before they start their first teaching practice.
However, some guidance suggests that Enhanced Disclosures
should be required before an applicant is finally accepted on to an
ITT course.
Will you require Enhanced Disclosure from your students before an
offer of a place is confirmed, or simply before they enter any
teaching practice? What arrangements do you have in place at
your institution?
Thank you in advance for your help.
