Emma, (and Admin-student colleagues) strangely I have posted a very similar
message today on the ARC mail base which I reproduce below (apologies for
cross-posting).

If anyone would care to add in any further information to your replies which
would add to the debate here in Wales, I'd be very grateful.

The University of Wales is currently reviewing its policy on fall-back and
interim awards and I should be grateful for any information you can provide
on related credit policies.

Specifically I would be interested to know if other institutions operate an
equivalent of our "two-thirds" rule, whereby candidates can qualify for a
fall-back award having pursued the required number of credits but having
attained passes in a minimum of only two thirds of those credits.
(An example of this might be a candidate for an undergraduate degree failing
to achieve the award but passing two thirds of the credits required for a
Diploma in Higher Education, thus being granted the DipHE).
Do you also expect candidates to recover failure for non-fall back awards?"

for an award to be made, provided that students have passed a minimum
