There was a piece in the 22nd November edition of Computing on
steganography. The bulk of the piece dealt with the idea of smuggling data
in digital files but there was a useful link to a site which includes a
concise overview of the technology and a lot of potentially useful links to
books and web resources on the subject: http://www.jjtc.com/Steganography/
If, like me, you find all this stuff a bit scary and magical you might find
it useful to read through the blurbs for the books to get a feel for the
topic and there's a neat little introduction to steganography at
http://www.jjtc.com/stegdoc/indexbk.html
Hope this is useful.
