TRAINING FOR THE EFFECTIVE ENQUIRY SERVICE

This event sets out to guide and support senior staff who have
responsibility for developing skills of colleagues. It will provide a
structured approach to defining continuing training needs, input on how to
train, and will focus on the unique issues involved in accountability of
services in the information age.
Those who attend should expect to return to their workplace able to create
and manage learning opportunities capable of improving standards of service.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:

* considered a range of appropriate learning opportunities
* identified elements in a training plan for the workplace

WORKSHOP LEADERS: Kim Greenfield & Terry Beck
Kim is Learning Resource Centre Manager at Farnborough College of
Technology.
Terry is a Chartered Librarian, and worked in public libraries in East
London and Essex prior to becoming a lecturer at the School of Information
and Communication Studies at the University of North London. Terry has run
special courses on ICT in Britain, Ukraine, Poland and Portugal. He
currently works part-time for Essex Libraries, and is also involved in
various ICT-related projects.
