This is a brief announcement that the Centre for Clinical Effectiveness at
Melbourne's Monash Institute of Health Services Research is advertising for two
Research Officer/Fellow positions.
The purpose of the positions is to work in a collaborative team effort to
evaluate new and emerging health technologies, providing detailed
analyses to support health policy formation. The role of the Research Officers
will be to participate in conducting systematic reviews of
research evidence on health technologies, providing expertise and advice on
aspects of epidemiology, biostatistics and/or health economics and
liaising with professional committees.
You will have a postgraduate qualification and experience in a field relevant to
Centre activities (epidemiology, biostatistics, health
economics or health related research) or extensive experience in these areas;
experience in preparing and writing comprehensive reports and
other scientific papers within deadlines; experience working in a team
environment; experience in communicating with professional groups; and
excellent computer skills. Electronic information searching expertise (databases
and Internet), familiarity with research methodologies,
understanding of concepts supporting evidence based health care, critical
evaluation and experience in a clinical research environment
would be desirable.

The Appointments will be for one year in the first instance, at academic Levels
A or B (depending on skills and experience) with the possibility of extensions.
