Internet Archaeology is now a subscription-only journal.
http://intarch.ac.uk/subscriptions.html
Since the ending of our operational grant from eLib last year, the
e-journal Internet Archaeology http://intarch.ac.uk has been obliged to
become fully self-financing. The Internet Archaeology team has been
working hard behind the scenes to realise this through subventions,
advertising and institutional subscriptions.
Institutional subscriptions were introduced in 2000 for UK educational
institutions and extended to other educational institutions worldwide
earlier this year. The success we have had in all these areas is very
encouraging and we have every confidence that they will continue to grow.
During all this time we have been able to keep access for individuals free
of charge. However, as the many frequent visitors to the journal
know, a fourth source of income has always been needed which is why a
subscription service for individuals (who actually make up the journal's
biggest user group) has been launched.
**Apart from Issue 1, which will remain free, access to full text
articles in Internet Archaeology is now for (institutional or individual)
subscribers only.**
An individual subscription costs 39.50 UKP per issue group (there are
currently two groups of issues: 2-9 and 10-11). As with institutional
rates, an individual subscription will purchase *permanent* access to the
issues within each group.
Full details (and how individuals can pay online for immediate access)
may be found at:
http://intarch.ac.uk/subscriptions.html
We hope that you will encourage your institution to purchase access to the
journal under a subscription arrangement, or that you will support
Internet Archaeology as an individual subscriber.
These changes in access do not affect Internet Archaeology's status as a
not-for-profit journal. If you have any questions at all about the
journal, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Judith
