The DTI's Consumer Gateway (www.consumer.gov.uk/consumer_web/euro_faq.htm)
suggests that you "ask your bank in advance for the latest date they will accept
a particular national currency"! According to the same website, they only
exchange notes.
The advice on Lloyds TSB's website is to "ensure you exchange currencies from
euro countries by February 2002 or you may find it impossible or expensive to do
so after this date".
Best wishes
Martin

Does anybody know if a deadline has been set after which those in the UK
will be unable to exchange Eurozone national currencies for sterling in the
UK?
Thanks,
Maureen.
