Dear all,
This notice concerns the "Transport and Flow Processes in Shear Zones"
meeting. This is the first Joint meeting between structural/tectonics
specialist groups affiliated to the Geological Societies of London, America
and Australia. As such we wish to ensure that the conference is truly
representative of its international make-up.
In the light of the current international situation and some logistical
problems with the field trip, it has been decided to CHANGE THE DATE of the
conference and postpone it for 6 months.
* THE NEW DATE FOR THE SHEARZONE MEETING WILL NOW BE 2 AND 3 SEPTEMBER 2002. *
We hope this will facilitate full participation for all interested delegates.
The deadline for abstracts and registration has also been moved back
accordingly to the 1 MAY 2002, whilst the deadline for submission of
manuscripts will remain at the meeting itself ie. 2-3 September 2002. A
post-conference field trip to the shear zones in the Scottish Highlands
will be organised for the 4 - 8 September.
Updated information will be available in forthcoming issues of the
"Geoscientist Magazine" and also at the Web site (under What's New)
http://www.st-and.ac.uk/academic/gg/schoolpage.html
