UNIVERSITY OF TEESSIDE AND NORTH EAST ASSEMBLY
RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP OPPORTUNITY in the social sciences
Bursary of up to £9,090 per annum for three years plus fees
Applications are invited for an opportunity to join the North East Assembly
in a scrutiny support role that will lead to the award of a Professional
Doctorate from the University of Teesside. The North East Assembly is the
democratic voice of the North East Region. It is taking on a major new
responsibility of scrutinising the work of the Regional Development Agency
One NorthEast. To support this activity, we are seeking a graduate with
skills in collating and analysing evidence across diverse topics ranging
from inward investment to social exclusion. There are likely to be excellent
career opportunities for the right candidate.
Applicants should have a First or Upper Second class honours degree in the
social sciences, including sound research training and preferably a Master's
degree. We are particularly interested in candidates able to research and
prepare complex written reports to tight deadlines and who have political
awareness and a general understanding of government structures. Interviews
are scheduled for 6 November.
Application forms and further particulars are available from Professor Tim
Blackman, School of Social Sciences, University of Teesside, Middlesbrough,
TS1 3BA, or telephone 01642 342301 or email [log in to unmask]
