hello,John.the disease you said is Temporo-mandibular Joint Dysfunction
Syndrome,or temporomandibular disorders(TMD),
and Dislocation of the temporo-mandibular Joint. It is in the field a
stomatologist is quite familiar with.I am not a stomatologist but I kown a
little about it .The reason of the disease isn't clear until now, maybe it is
caused by such things like biting hard food, opening the mouth too
widely, grinting one's teeth at night, hitted by sth. on TMJ,always chewing
with unilateral mastication muscles, etc.I think the unbalance in
mastication muscle tone play a key role in the pathogenesis and you can try
the methods below to relieve the symptoms.
treatment methods:
1. regulating muscle tone-finger press,in the depression anterior to the
condyloid process of the mandible with your thumb.
And flex metacarpo-phalangeal joints and
close finger tips, make the tips form a line, then press
muscles just below the depression mentioned above with the finger tip line.
2. electronic stimulation
maybe what I kown is much less than yours.if you can get a stomatologist to
discuss it face to face you will get more useful info.
