medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Besides the notables mentioned by Angus, there was the eponymous O.F.M.Cap.
Gaudentius of Brescia of the 17th century, about whose 7 (folio) volume
work _Palladium Theologicum seu tuta theologia scholastica ad intimam
mentem d. Bonaventurae Seraph. Doc. cujus eximiae doctrinae raptae
restituuntur, sententiae impugnatae propugnantur_ the old Catholic
Encyclopedia says, "elegance of style, depth of thought, and soundness of
doctrine are admirably combined, and [it] ranks the author among the
foremost exponents of the Franciscan school."
