Thank you, David, for your reply to our posting. We have been amazed that
there have been no other responses. Is it because it's an embarrasment, or
because people feel powerless?
We live in Ireland and didn't have the time to track down a key so we could
get in. We were surprised to find it in the shape it's in, and anyway we
see the lock and notice board as a part of the "trash" that needs to be
cleaned up, i.e. they are out of place there.
This is much more complex than just gaining personal access. This is a
very sacred place and the temple should be open to all... freely.
We don't have the time, expertise or contacts to achieve this. There needs
to be a team.
I'm not sure that demolition of the wellhouse is desirable.
What is "restoration" but an attempt to restore something to a condition at
a particular time in the past. Who is to decide which time? Many would
like to see the building itself "restored."
But it's the future that is important. Not the past. Lets find a way of
opening the doors so that the place can be filled with light again...
