Conflict in Macedonia: Human Rights Watch
This web site provides access to a collection of news stories, documents
and reports relating to the conflict in Macedonia which have been prepared
by Human Rights Watch, an international human rights monitoring
organisation. They include transcripts, press releases and eye witness
accounts from Human Rights Watch aid workers. Issues covered include: human
rights abuses during the conflict, refugee problems and the role and work of
international organisations such as NATO.

Women in Parliament: a Comparative Analysis by Judith Squires and Mark
Wickham-Jones (2001)
Description: This site provides access to the full text of a research
discussion series report published by the Equal Opportunities Commission in
2001. ISBN 1842060783. It provides statistics on the number of women in the
British and other national parliaments worldwide and analyses reasons for
their under representation. These include: socio-economic, cultural and
party political policy factors. The latter includes analysis of the impact
of different electoral systems and positive discrimination quotas on women's
political representation.

United Nations Online Network in Public Administration and Finance
The United Nations Online Network in Public Administration and Finance
(UNPAN) is an intergovernmental body which promotes the international
sharing of knowledge and good practice in the fields of public
administration and civil service management. Its web site provides
information on the purpose of UNPAN, its membership and activities. It
includes information and reports from its research programmes which cover
areas such as the management of public finance, electronic commerce, digital
government and civil service reform. Also available is a large conference
section which provides links to information, abstracts and some full text
papers from conferences relating to public administration held by UNPAN and
other international bodies. A worldwide directory lists and provides links
to the web pages of leading national and international organisations working
in the field.
