STUDENTSHIPS IN MA IN SOCIOLOGY AND SOCIAL RESEARCH
UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE
The Department of Sociology and Social Policy is currently accepting
applications for two full time studentships in the MA in Sociology and
Social Research to begin in September, 2001.
The studentship includes course fees (for 'Home' Students) and a
maintenance grant of stlg7500. Recipients of the studentship must put
forward an application to the Economic & Social Research Council
(ESRC) for funding for a PhD in the spring of 2002. The department is
willing to supervise students in a diverse range of research topics
including: health, family studies, labour market, class, sexuality,
social theory, social movements, youth studies, population studies,
race and ethnicity, social justice, gender studies, criminal justice,
and political economy.
Prospective applicants should send a cover letter, CV and a one-to-two
page outline of their proposed research area marked 'MA Studentship
Application' to Bradley Robinson, Department of Sociology and Social
Policy, Claremont Bridge Bldg, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7RU.
The deadline for applications is August 29,
