Researcher – reviews of social interventions
National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit, Oxford
ACADEMIC-RELATED RESEARCH STAFF GRADE 1A:
Salary £16,775-25,213 p.a. pro rata (pay award pending)
The NPEU is an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary research
unit in Oxford that undertakes research about pregnancy, childbirth and
newborn. Further details of our research, staff and funding can be

consider part-time and job share applications.
This post will be for either nine months at full-time or one year at
part-time (60%) to cover two current projects that require additional
support. The main project concerns interventions intended to limit the
impact of poverty and disadvantage on the health and well-being of
mothers and babies. The job involves:
mapping research on the topic, including the identification of
existing high quality reviews
developing a way to systematise the description of interventions in
this field
setting priorities for future specific reviews
The post-holder will also be asked to provide some help with two
systematic reviews of studies of the views of women about maternity care
in poorer countries.
This job is for a researcher with experience of systematic reviewing of
complex topics, or with experience of research in either of the
substantive areas who wishes to develop skills in systematic reviewing.
Candidates should have a relevant first or higher degree and some
research experience as specified.
