We have recently had Exegesis HBSMR System Version 2 installed in
Southampton. I've started to input our card-based SMR into this database,
and am trying to devise consistant monument record hierachies and methods of
data input.
Do any other Exegesis users (of Version 1 or 2) have their own local
recording practice guidelines/manuals that could help me, and perhaps
provide a basis for our own manual? I would particularly like to hear from
other users dealing with urban SMR's, with multi-phase area excavations as
well as above-ground buildings/monuments? How do you divide your data
between monument records and monument types? (I have the English Heritage
"Informing the Future of the Past..." guidelines.)
