My possible explanation for age-related CAQDAS users: Anthropological text
holds out the 'getting down and dirty' qualifier for good ethnographic
research. Hard to get down and dirty on a high tech computer. I'm 50 and
when turning to qualitative research software, I informally interviewed
colleages from a number of departments. Your hypothesis would hold, the
'old-timers' prefer touching and moving their data with fingers, scissors
and glue. I took a risk and am using Hyperresearch. Still coding my data
so I really don't know what all it can do yet, and I'm praying I made the
right choice after these countless hours of coding. Like selecting a
partner for life without knowing how they screw on the toothpaste cap.
