Apologies for cross-posting ...
Dear list members
I am pleased to be able to say that the May 2001 issue of Notework, the
newsletter of the Standing Conference on Organizational Symbolism, is now
available online. Those of you who already read Notework will know that from
now on we are publishing the May issue online only, while continuing to
publish the November issue in both hard and soft copy. So this is by way of
a historic event (or at least it is in my small corner of North East
London!). This issue contains all manner of stuff, including the call for
SCOS 2002 in Budapest, Steve Linstead's Notes from the Chair with all the
latest SCOS updates and info, papers on organizational abuse by John Bergin
and Lynn Peck and on moving academic disciplines by Elisabeth Wilson,
informational inserts about new journals and forthcoming conferences and the
usual assortment of silliness. I can only urge you to go forthwith to
http://www.scos.org to access it. From the home page, if you are already a
member, click on Members in the left hand menu, type in your login and
password and then click on Notework in the left hand menu. If you haven't
joined yet, it's free, and you simply need to click on Join SCOS when you
arrive at the home page. Joining will also ensure that you receive the hard
copy November issue by post.
Notework is also archived on the site as far back as November 1998, for
those of you with a taste for the retrospective. All issues are in PDF
format, but if you don't have Adobe Acrobat on your PC you can download it
(safely of course) from the SCOS site.
Hope you find time to have a read - and to make a contribution to the next
issue, the deadline for which is the 15th September 2001.
Best wishes
Jo Brewis
