medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
In my recent post I wrote that "In all likelihood that was the case with the Pentateuch genealogies"--meaning, skipping over generations was very likely the case in the Pentateuch genealogies. Frank Morgret has since pointed out that this is also characteristic of Jewish genealologies from the intertestamental period.
