medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
In connection with Petrus=Rock, is there any other language than French to
have a perfect similarity (Pierre=pierre)?
[and, of course, Greek]

PS. In connection with Joshua=Jesus, there is not a change, but a difference
between two different languages. It's quite simple, since Iesus is nothing
more than the Greek pronounciation for the Hebrew (and Aramaic) Joshua.
PS2. In this thread about the "name change in the Gospels', I do not
understand why some listmembers have the English names as starting point!
The Jesus' speeches were delivered in Aramaic, and then the books of the New
Testament would be written in Greek, as the international language of those
times (as it is English nowadays).
