Steward Community Woodland is a co-operatively owned and operated
permaculture project located near Moretonhampsted in Devon which aims to
demonstrate the value of integrating conservation woodland management
techniques with organic growing, traditional skills and crafts and
low-impact sustainable living. They are presently in dispute with the
Dartmoor National Park Authority over the right to live on the site through
developments in line with the principles of low impact development....
S T O P P R E S S - PLANNING APPEAL NEWS
A public hearing to decide our planning appeal will take place in early
August somewhere in Moretonhampstead - you are welcome to attend.
If you feel that we should be granted permission, please write a letter to
the planning inspectorate and talk to your friends, neighbours and
colleagues to see if they would also support the project. The more
supportive letters the inspectorate recieves, the better our chances.
Our planning application and proposed conditions are available to read on
our website. If you (or anyone you know) has any concerns about our
proposals, we would be pleased to discuss our plans in detail or show you
