Thank you for the reply Robert. I am restricting the query to acupuncture
with needles as I'm not involved with taking blood.
Do you have a hospital policy on cleani8ng skin prior to needling? What is
the thinking behind not cleaning skin when taking blood? Surely you are
introducing the skins flora into the blood stream if it's not wiped?

Are you restricting your query to needle acupuncture? There is certainly a
widespread policy not to use alcohol swabs before taking blood.
