One of the precept of peer review
Is that if you have had this problem
Statistically somebody, somewhere at some point
Will run into the same problem.
I've seen
a Peds residents
Inserting IOs
White knuckle, hand shaking
... and yet unsucessful
For the record
For people that do not put in IOs regularly (nearly everybody)
The screw in type
Is the more appropriate IO
It forces you to go slow
It gives you time to see what you are doing (90 angle all around)
It does'nt ask or generate excessive force
You still feel the "pop"
It's more secure
And to my knowledge; does'nt generate more complications
