"Having watched geophys turn up very clear responses and on
digging, find nothing"
Just remember geophysical investigations do not find archaeology just
anomilies, differences beneath the ground surface. On excavation these
anomalies may turn out to be archaeological but can just as easily be
geologial or due to localised soil properties. So perhaps your comment needs
"Having watched geophys IDENTIFY clear ANOMOLIES and on
digging, find NO ARCHAEOLOGY"
Unlike dowsers, geophysisists do not claim to find archaeology.
