Joseph Elders writes "it starts from the time-honoured
premise of reading the New Testament and then looking for archaeological
evidence that would appear to fit, which unfortunately is what all Holy Land
Archaeology has always been all about".
As a layman I always thought that the New Testament was the main historical
source for the life of Christ, and as such presents a reasonable starting
point for those attepting to research it. Can someone give me a brief
overview of contradictory sources and archaeology that refutes what is in
the New Testament?
I'm not defending the programme here, but would like some objective (oh
dear, that word again) leads on the alternative view.
