Eaton Constantine: Eaton is a common name with two different meanings.
1. Most are 'farmstead by the river' OE ea + ton
2. Others are 'farmstead on dry ground in marsh or well watered land'
Eaton Constantine (Shrops) etune 1086 (D.B), eton costentyn 1285. Manorial
affix from the de Costentin family, here in the 13th Century.
Hope that helps Adrian
