The Euroscola programme brings groups of students from all over the EU together in Strasbourg to discuss matters of European interest in working groups which then choose a spokesperson to represent them in a "plenary session" in the EP's debating chamber.
The next Euroscola session is on May 8th, when the main theme will be languages, and because of a number of cancellations there is now no UK group taking part. My colleague Christine Burton, usually deals with this but as she is away this week I am covering for her.
We would like to find a group from a UK school who could go to the session on May 8th. I realise that this is incredibly short notice and is probably an impossible task, but if anyone does have any ideas I would be happy to hear from you.
The students should be aged 16-18, accompanied by teachers in the ratio of one teacher for 10 pupils. A small subsidy is paid, based on distance travelled (e.g., the calculation made for a group from Sussex was 120 euros). Pupils should have at least a basic knowledge of another EU language.
