A Knowth.com update:
As the precautionary measures against the threat of Foot and Mouth Disease
in animals are relaxed, Dúchas the Irish Heritage Service that runs Brú na
Bóinne Visitor Centre, the access point to Newgrange and Knowth Megalithic
Passage Tombs have announced the re-opening of Newgrange on the 1st of May.
Knowth will also open for the summer season on the 1st of May.
New at www.knowth.com
1) www.knowth.com/books.htm for books on Neolithic Ireland, especially the
Megalithic Passages of the Boyne Valley.
2) www.knowth.com/newgrange-directions.htm for directions to Newgrange.
3) www.knowth.com/fourknocks-directions.htm for directions to Fourknocks.
4) www.knowth.com/ardcath.htm - This mound at Ardcath has not been
excavated, so we don't know if it is the location of a Megalithic Passage
Tomb or just a mound of clay. The mound is situated on a hilltop between
Newgrange to the North and Fourknocks to the East and there two standing
stones about 200 metres from the mound.
Slán,
Michael
