Hengistbury Head in Dorset for the tail-end of prehistory might bew a
useful start. Barry Cunliffe devoted a lot of time and effort in
studying it and its likely trade links...and wrote stuff up in a handy
volume entitled Hengistbury Head.
You might also try the Scandinavian archaeology discussion group, now in
a Yahoo Group list which I find very difficult to access so can't give
you a net link to it. Similarly the Eoropean arch group could be good
