You'll need to use a range somewhere on your worksheet to serve as a
counter. Then you'll need to assign your module to the F2 function key.
Suppose you name a single cell range on your spreadsheet as "Ctr".
On Error Resume Next
.AddComment 'Adds a comment to cell
.Comment.Text Text:=Format(Range("Ctr"), "000") & ":" & Chr(10) & ""
& Chr(10) & ""
Range("Ctr") = Range("Ctr") + 1
The Chr(10) 's give you a couple of blank lines in the comment like Excel
normally does with a comment. The On-Error statement covers if you try to
enter a comment into the same cell twice, it skips the add comment statement
and just changes the text in the comment.
