Front squats are an assistance exercise for the Olympic lifts (clean and
jerk, snatch). Here are some pics with descriptions.

Obviously a rehab patient wouldn't start out with the weights shown. :) Or

I used full depth front squats to rehab my own knee. They were a godsend.
