CALL FOR PAPERS
The Commercial World: International Approaches to The History of
Retailing and Distribution, 1500-2000
A conference to be held at The University of Wolverhampton, on 13 and 14
September 2001
The Committee for the History of Retailing and Distribution (CHORD)
invites proposals for an international and inter-disciplinary
Conference. It particularly welcomes proposals for papers (based both on
research in progress and on completed research) for sessions on:
* Markets, Fairs, Peddlers and Commercial Travellers
* Craftsmen-retailers, Small Shopkeepers and Shopworkers
* Department Stores, Multiples, Superstores and Mail Order
* Wholesalers, Distribution Networks and E-commerce
Papers overlapping and/or challenging boundaries are welcome.
Proposals (c. 200 words) should be submitted by Friday 9 March 2001 to:
