Costs are £140 for one day for public sector staff. Discounted prices are
available for those attending more than one day. Any of the one day sessions
can be attended individually, or you can do the whole event as a four day

Authoring on the World Wide Web
Tuesday 13th Mar
A practical workshop for those who are users of the World Wide Web and
wish to start creating and publishing their own web pages. It includes
writing hypertext, using graphics and creating tables, with an introduction
to HMTL (the markup lanuage behind the web) , use of simple authoring
tools and design issues.

Images and Multimedia for the Web
Wednesday 14th Mar
This is a workshop for users of the World Wide Web who have had some
experience of creating basic Web pages and wish to add multimedia elements
such as graphics, audio, video and other animation techniques. Other topics
covered include file formats, streaming, Virtual Reality Markup Language
and design issues.

Creating Interactive Web Pages
Thursday 15th Mar
Anyone who has created simple Web pages in HTML can, through this
workshop, investigate techniques that are available which enhance web
pages by allowing the user to interact with the page such as CGI and
forms, Java applets and simple JavaScript. No previous programming
experience is necessary.

Databases on the Web
Friday 16th Mar
This is a practical workshop for users of the World Wide Web who wish to
connect purpose designed or pre-existing databases to the Internet. The
workshop gives and overview of the tools and techniques available and
teaches the practical skills necessary to use them. Topics covered include
the Access web wizard, Active Server Pages (ASP), Cold Fusion and CGI.
