Dear Paul,
Yes, indeed. Not later than yesterday.
The main reasons:
An unpleasnt conversation with my boss.
I'll try to summerize!
I gave her the paper asking for holidays days leave
from the 19.02 to the 5.03 (I am too lazy to count
again but I think it was the 5.03). Total : 5 days
(full days work) or 10 days (half days work).
I work half time, unfortunately (no exclamation point
here). Because I am a mother too and have to get my
son from school everyday at 3:30 PM.
I swear I would LOVE to work more. I have so much to
do. Teaching, treating and researching.
I realized that last year, "they" tricked me. I took
10 days holidays in February and I was supposely
allowed only 15 days a year. Now, isn't that crazy?
That meant that I could only take 5 days holidays for
the rest of the year! My son has many half-term
holidays and god knows what! Also, I am only human and
a break here and there is very therapeutic, I believe.
The fact that I want to take a break very soon is
because I am a bit worned out!
I have some health problems. I can be very tired, with
"palpitations", lightnings in my brain and so forth.
Stress related? Maybe. I just hope it's "only" that!
I do not say that she "tricked" me last year. I am
employed by the NHS.
She says that this is the way it is with the NHS.
Well, thank you but that is not allright.
Actually, I would love your help on this one.
Don't you think that 5 days full days work = 10 days
half days work?
Please, help!
I also told her that I work every morning from 8:30
until 1:00 - 1:30 PM everyday of the week.(I don't
count my work with you guys or else! Meaning, of
course, what I learn from YOU).
This doesn't allow me to go on holidays abroad if I
want sun GUARANTEED!
If I was working only 3 days a week, things would be
easier. But I do not want to work only 3 days a week
...(and my boss doesn't want as well!) because I need
to treat my patients everyday, if you know what I
mean!
:-)
She didn't like the whole thing and almost threatened
me saying that maybe she needs to employe somebody
else, a second physio or something.
She even wondered if I was REALLY taking care of my
health and stuff like that.
I was a bit in shock!
Such unsensivity! Such ungratefullness!
And where I work is a CHARITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I thought about going into private practice.
I know perfectly well that I will be overwhelmed (!)
with patients and $$$$$$$$$.
In the UK, we LACK specialists about Lymphoedema.
AND the need is GREAT GREAT.
Now, I was thinking about my patients.
Most cannot pay for private treatment.
But maybe I should dig with private insurances ...
Sincerely, I do not know much about the situation with
insurances and stuff. I am not a political animal at
all!
Now, I wonder what the CSP is doing for us, guys and
ladies!
BTW, their website is pathetic!
We should tell them about the apta magazine on line!
And maybe they could really fight for a decent salary.
For the americans, singapories, sweds, canadians,
indians ...etc on this list: I earn 1100 pounds a
month, taxes deduced. I work 22 hours a week
(officialy!) and I would love to work more OFFICIALY!
So, what do I do?
Please?
Also, Paul, do you want to open a business with me?!
:-)
Best regards,
Noemi
