The Spatial Information Unit, within the Department of Geography, provides a
range of GIS and related planning support services to local, regional and
national bodies. In order to undertake a major project for the NASC (West
Ireland European Liaison) group of local and regional authorities, the Unit
now wishes to make 3 contract appointments, each for a period of up to 2
years.
Applications are invited for:
Project Director
Candidates should have:
· an honours degree or equivalent qualification in Geography, Economics,
Engineering, Planning, Computing or a related discipline.
· a postgraduate GIS qualification and a thorough understanding of GIS
applications,
· familiarity with Arc Info, Arc View, Map Info and related applications.
· experience in data management, analysis and modelling.
· the capacity to manage the project and possess good communication skills
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)
GIS Analyst (2)
Candidates should have:
· an honours degree as above and postgraduate training in GIS.
· thorough understanding of GIS concepts and applications including web
based systems.
· in-depth knowledge of standard GIS software and associated macro
languages.
· experience in network administration would be an advantage.
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (depending on experience)
