In my MPP work on the Sewage industry and the Gas industry, I have encountered
information about 'sewer vents' (which I presume are the same thing). I am aware
of about 20 documented in Surrey and 1 in Cheshire. I believe there were (and
probably are) many more. If you include lamps lit by sewer gas and 'Sewer Gas
Eliminators', there are many many more examples (some listed, especially in
Sheffield).
