JOINT UNIVERSITIES DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTRE
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
This full time post will be responsible for providing administrative support
to the Centre, which will include cover for a reception and enquiry service,
liaising with disabled students and applicants, booking appointments and
developing and maintaining filing, record and tracking systems. The
successful applicant will work with a small team of permanent staff at the
Centre, a range of part time consultants, disability support staff and other
employees in the four universities and external agencies concerned with
assessment, financial and other support arrangements for disabled students.
At least two years' experience of administration in a large, complex
organisation is required including experience of developing administrative
systems. The post holder will need excellent interpersonal skills, be
numerate, able to plan and organise their own workload and possess good IT
skills. Knowledge of the workings of Higher Education is essential.
Experience of working with people with disabilities and an understanding of
the relevant legislation would be an advantage.
Commencing salary will be within the range £14,409 to £17,331 per annum.
