I have a colleague who is working on a site where slag from a steel
processing plant is to be re-used as construction material. The slag is
from a variety of sources but primarily from the Electric Arc Furnace and
Ladle Furnace. The slag has undergone leachate analysis for heavy metals but
it is not clear what methods have been used or how many samples taken.
Do any of you have any comments on what should be analysed in this slag
material (eg a metal screen on slag + leachate?) and how this should be
done? Are there any standards you are aware of which are applicable to this
type of material?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
