Dear All,
I've just been talking to Bryony Coles, who says that she
has just come across some accounts of European Beaver
making dens in other spaces rather than burrowing. These
include caves and watermill cellars! However, when they
make their dens in these places they do not burrow, so
would not do archaeological damage (but might, I suppose,
get incorporated into assemblages). When they do burrow
they only really do so from bank sides (entrance
underwater).
