List members might be interested to know that last Thursday, the House of
Commons Public Administration Committee published a report "Public
Participation: issues and innovations". The main focus is on participation
in general functions of local and central government, but it does state that
the Committee believes "that deliberative techniques should be routinely
employed to explore views of citizens on appropriate issues of scientific
uncertainty."
