Dear Colleagues,
I have a question regarding the relative energy of molecular
orbitals. If we correlate C3v and Cs symmetry point group, we will see
that each E state of the C3v symmetry correlates to A/(prime) and
A//(double prime) state,i.e E state split to A prime and A double prime
states. After this transformation, in Cs symmetry which one (A/ or A//)
will be the lower in energy with respect to the other (i.e. A/ or A//?)?
Any type of suggestion is most welcome.
