Senior Research Associate Post in Atmospheric Chemistry
Applicants are sought for a Senior Research Associate post to conduct
studies of radical species in the troposphere using the remote sensing
technique of Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS).
Species of interest include the bromine and iodine oxides, and the
nitrate radical. Campaigns will be conducted at Mace Head (Ireland)
and Halley Bay (Antarctica). The post, supported by the Natural
Environment Research Council, is for 40 months, working with Professor
John Plane.
The post will be based in the Laboratory for Global Marine and
Atmospheric Chemistry, a substantial new facility funded by the U.K.
Government's Joint Infrastructure Fund within the HEFCE 5* rated School
of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia.
The starting date is negotiable from 1 November, 2001. Applicants
should hold or expect to obtain a Ph.D. in atmospheric
chemistry/physics, physical chemistry or a related discipline. Salary
will be paid on the Research and Analogous 1A scale in the range £17451
to £26229 depending on experience and qualifications.
