PhD POSITION IN THEORETICAL CHEMISTRY
Topic: "Towards an understanding of surface catalytic
decomposition of water: Theory"
Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the Theoretical
Chemistry Group of Peter Saalfrank, Regensburg (Germany). The project
is concerned with the application and further development of
theoretical methods for the ab initio characterization of water and
water fragments on metal and metal oxide surfaces and the nuclear
quantum dynamics of adsorbed water following photo excitation.
The project is being funded by the German Research Council (DFG)
within a transnational program "CERC 3: Molecules at complex surfaces"
and includes collaboration with experimental groups in Leiden,
Netherlands ( Prof. A. Kleyn), Cambridge, UK (Prof. D. A. King) and
Berlin, Germany (Prof. M. Wolf).
