Dear friends,
I have a little question for all of you. If you go through the
paper REMPI spectroscopy of CF3I in the bulk and in a molecular beam, CPL
188;5,6; 413;1992 you will find out that CF3I has 9 vibrational mod out of
which 3 are singly degenerate(A) and three are doubly degenerate(E). when
they are studing REMPI via C state they defined the bands like
0(Suf.0,pref.0), 3(Suf.0,pref1)etc. we know that the principal no,i.e. 0
or 3 defines the vibrational mod. Let, for second case it is a
transition from the vibrational 0 (Suf)quantum level of 3-rd
vibrational mod to 1-st(Pref) vibrational level of the same mod. then what
is the meaning for the first one, i.e. what do you mean by 0(Principal
no.) there? Is it Zero-th vibrational mod? What is this Zero-th
vibrational mod? please send me a reply. thank to all of you.
Dulal.
