Hi,
a few weeks ago there has been a discussion on color-codes on miner's
lamps, safety hats etc.
In the meantime I found out, that the following colour scheme was used at
the 'Zeche Ahlen' in the Eastern Ruhr area (closed a few months ago):
white = manager, pit-foreman, overman, (Ger.: Steiger)
yellow = getter, hewer (Ger.: Hauer)
blue = mechanic, fitter (Ger.: Schlosser, Maschinenarbeiter)
green = electrician
red = security service
orange = trainee
This scheme might differ from pit to pit, but the white colour for VIPs :-)
seems to be common practice.
Greetings
Harald
