We are currently in process of developing a system based on Adlib which will
have about 80,000 images and accompanying data by March next year. We went
through an extensive procurement process in mid-1999 and several of the
names mentioned did figure. (If you want to know more please contact me
off-list and I can fill in some details).
As you will have gathered by now, your main problem is deciding the
question - including how you maintain the system once it's in place.

Subject: Image management software
Anybody have any recommendations for image management hardware and software?
We desperately need to organise and manage digital images of our collection
and other items and I'm wondering what would be the best way to achieve
this. A dedicated server appeals to me, with some sort of database of images
and associated metadata. Preferably something with the capability to
automatically add a directory full of images to the database, plus any other
bells and whistles. A nice friendly front-end is essential so that all
interested staff can browse the image base and obtain / link to the required
images from it. All thoughts welcome!
