Perhaps Mark could tell us which NT houses are known to have had servants'
libraries. I believe Blickling is the best-documented. Did Petworth not
have one? I believe Trentham (not NT) might have had, but I may be wrong.
On a different tack, the British Library has the catalogue of the
Athenaeum Club servants' library, dated 1909. They obviously took good
care of their servants!
