Ian -
Once you have logged into BIDS your authentication information should be passed
to ingenta.com so that you don't need to log in again to access the journals,
regardless of whether you are on campus or not.
Obviously this had stopped working. We have now fixed it, so your users will be
recognised as coming from U Northumbria on their arrival at ingenta.com. This
will give them access to your institutional subscriptions, although they will
need to log in again to access features such as My Ingenta.
Thanks for pointing this out - and our apologies for the temporary hitch.
Best wishes,
Kirsty Meddings

Subject: BIDS, ingenta multiple login needed
If you login to BIDS with Athens on-campus, and then choose ingenta,
thetransition is smooth, presumably as your IP address is recognised. If you do
so off-campus, its necessary to login again to ingenta.
It would be nice for this anomaly to be removed or maybe we really should
just forget about the BIDS route for ejournals and point people straight to
ingenta. (Perhaps you all do that already!)
Terry, Kirsty or whoever - can you comment?
Thanks.
