Oxford University Press publishes some 180 academic journals worldwide, the
majority of which now offer their full text online.
The journals sales department is looking for a Consortial Sales Executive to
work within its small but growing Consortial Sales Team. The candidate will
be expected to take multi-site and consortial agreements from initial
contact through to signature, ensuring online access to OUP's academic
journals by our corporate and institutional consortial subscribers.
Responsibilities include:-
* Detailed searches of our subscriber database in order to establish current
consortial subscription holdings
* The creation of spreadsheets incorporating this information into a matrix
which will allow consortial quotations to be developed
* Reconciliation of any discrepancies between our holdings records and those
of our consortial clients
* Liaising both internally and with consortial clients in order to agree
mutually acceptable offers
* Maintenance of accurate records of deals on our consortial database
* Design and production of a small amount of basic marketing material to
promote our online journal corpus to libraries
The ideal candidate will:-
* be a team player, educated to degree level
* have previous experience within a marketing and/ or corporate sales
environment, or within a library which acquires a significant amount of
online journal material
* be highly skilled in using software packages such as Excel, with a proven
aptitude to learn and work with new and developing systems.
* be able to prioritise tasks, take the initiative, set goals and work
efficiently unsupervised.
Desirable but not necessary are a practical knowledge of foreign languages,
experience of interpreting legal documents, and negotiating skills.
