I wonder if anyone has enabled access to Walk-In users as permitted in the
NESLI licence?
http://www.nesli.ac.uk/nesli-licence.html
We are considering setting up access to Emerald for such users and wonder
what others have done in terms of registering who these people are and how
to log them onto a workstation in the library to access Emerald?
Key woolly areas for us are:
getting names in advance from departments or users themselves,
and getting users logged onto a workstation which will only give them access
to Emerald and not enabling access to the other services we provide which
don't have provisions for walk-in users?
The following procedure is the only one that I can think of at present, ie,
that a walk-in user present themselves in the library, is checked against an
approved list of users and then logged on by a member of library staff to a
specific workstation which is set up to only allow access to Emerald and no
other Web sites.
I wonder what others are doing?
thanks for any advice
